Mercedes-Benz launched the 2017 Executive sedan at Detroit in two variants – the E200 and E220d. Both are powered by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, where the former carries a petrol engine and the E220d equips diesel engine. Both the cars comes with a standard 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission as standard and there’s no manual option.
The new E-Class adopts the S-Class’ design language, featuring a similarly shaped grille and headlights in front. Around back, the trunk and taillights ape the S-Class, too. Inside, it features a new infotainment system with the steering wheel making use of touch sensitive controls. Even the Digital Vehicle Key uses Near Field Communication technology and allows the driver’s smartphone to be used as a vehicle key.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be available at US dealers in the summer of 2016.
