As the final N Developer Preview of Android 7.0 is already out for the Nexus devices, the owners of the Nexus devices will taste the official version of the Android 7.0 Nougat by early next week. Android N will see its launch for the Nexus 5X and 6P on August 22, according to Canadian carrier Telus.

The official updates for a range of devices, including some of Samsung and LG were listed on the Telus forum. While the other devices in the list start receiving the security patches of Android M for the month of August, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will receive the Nougat update on the aforementioned date.

It is also said that the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia X Performance, Huawei P9, and LG G5 will be receiving the Nougat update followed by Nexus 5X and 6P.

The reason to buy Nexus devices is that they will be the first to receive any form of updates for Android. It’s also interesting that Nexus 6 is not listed; it has received all the Developer Preview update, though.

Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to bring in new notifications, a cleaner design, Project Svelte, Split-screen multitasking, customisable Quick Setting and much more.
