Audi has been gearing up for the global launch of the standard Q2 crossover that was showcased at the Geneva motor show in March.
It isn’t going to hit showrooms until this year’s end; however, the German manufacturer seems to be pressing ahead with a different version of the crossover.
The SQ2, a high-performance model was spotted testing undisguised at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany this week, which is expected to go into the public light at the Paris motor show in September. The SQ2 will follow the SQ5 and SQ7 within Audi’s high-riding high-performance portfolio.
Look wise, the SQ2 stand out from the regular Q2 with a larger blacked out grille along with larger air intakes and revised lower fascia. On the sides, it offers new wheels, color-coded door sills, and lower sports suspension differentiates the SQ2’s side profile. There’s a set of dual exhaust tip at the rear along with a spoiler.
Inside the SQ2’s bonnet, it is expected to get a wide range of petrol and diesel engines with an all-wheel drive mechanism. Rumors mill suggest that it would feature the same power output as that of S3 international models. The SQ2 is expected to go official in the second half of 2017.
