BMW has launched the next-gen X1 at the ongoing Auto Expo at a starting price of Rs. 29.9 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 39.9 lakh.
The BMW X1 was unveiled in the presence of Sachin Tendulkar. The new X1 is now available for bookings, but deliveries will happen only in April.
The new X1 loses 135kgs than its predecessor, thanks to the UKL platform. Also, it gets lavish boot and cabin space with an increased wheelbase by 90mm. The new X1 takes styling cues from the X3 model, and gets an updated LED head and tail lights.
Also, the company’s signature kidney-shaped grille has been modified to some extent. While the outgoing X1 model being offered only in diesel variant, the new X1 will be offered in both diesel and petrol variants.
The new BMW X1 is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that is good for 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. This unit comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol variant will be added to the lineup later this year.
