The retro styled executive commuter motorcycle, the Bajaj V150 has an interesting history behind its production. This bike will be launched under a new brand from the company – ‘V’ that pays tribute to the India’s first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and of course, ‘V’ in the brand stands for Vikrant. The bike not only bears the vessel name, but certain components of the V150 are made from the remains of the INS Vikrant.
Bajaj recently released a commercial teaser, revealing some details of the bike that shows the marine decal on the motorcycle reading, “Made with the invincible metal of INS Vikrant”. Bajaj will be marketed as a very special collectible bike, until the company runs out of metal from INS Vikrant, at least for a couple of years. There’s enough raw material to hit the production for two years, and the company will be producing a regular and affordable version of the motorcycle later.
Bajaj has taken a brilliant move to establish its presence in the commuter segment, and the bike will be position between the Discover and Pulsar in terms of pricing and mechanics. As far design, the bike sports a bikini fairing, a long muscular fuel tank, a single curvy seat, multi-spoke alloy wheels, beefy exhaust, classy tail lamps, and rear twin shock absorbers. Theirs is a V badge embedded on the fuel tank.
We don’t need to wait longer to explore the depths the motorcycle and we will get to know every detail of the motorcycle on February 1.
