Mahindra KUV100: Mahindra has launched the most anticipated compact utility vehicle of the year – the KUV100 in India. The Mahindra KUV100 carries a price tag of Rs. 4.42 lakh for base variant and Rs. 6.76 lakh for top trim (ex-showroom, Pune), which is the third outing from the company in compact utility vehicle segment after the Quanto and the TUV300.

The overall look of the vehicle looks almost identical to its elder sibling, Mahindra XUV500 though, it features its unique design cues. The KUV100 will take on the like of the younger audience with its aggressive styling and dominant SUV stance.

Mahindra KUV100 Exterior

Starting with the exterior, the fascia gets signature sleek grille with chrome inserts flanked by a pair of wraparound headlamps. The front looks beefy and aggressive, thanks to the large dual-tone bumper and the masculine bonnet. There’s a pair of dynamic fog lamps with chrome inserts and twin air intakes housed in the front bumper.

On the sides, it gets door side and wheel cladding, sporty rear spoiler, roof rails, unique double barrel tail lamps, large silver skid plate at the front and a tall-boy stance. The rear door handle is placed high near the window, and it sports a 14-inch multispoke alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless radial tyres.

Moving to the inside, the Mahindra KUV100 comes with two seating options – a standard five-seater and an optional six-seater. The vehicle packs in an infotainment system, tilt adjustable three-spoke steering wheel, inbuilt driver information system, Bluetooth supported audio system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, Mahindra Blue Sense App compatibility, premium fabric upholstery, and mood lighting in inner door handles. Safety-wise, ABS, EBD comes as standard, along with the optional dual airbags.

Powering the trendy Mahindra KUV100 is the company’s all-new range of petrol and diesel engines – the mFalcon series. The petrol variant packs in 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 mill that is good for 82bhp at 5500rpm and 114Nm of torque from as low as 3500rpm. And the diesel variant comes with a 1.2-litre turbocharged mFalcon D75 that generates 77bhp at 3725rpm and 190NM of torque from as low as 1750rpm. Both engines are clubbed with a five-speed manual transmission. Surprisingly, there’s no automatic transmission on either of the variants, however, Mahindra could add this feature sometime later.
