Mercedes will be revealing its AMG GT R publicly for the first time at next week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Billed as “beast of the green hell,” Mercedes has released a new teaser for the race inspired edition, which is closely associated with AMG GT3 racecar, in fact. The racer won the Nürburgring 24 Hours race back in May.
While the teaser doesn’t reveal any clear picture of the car, the new GT R should get lavish aerodynamic upgrades in order to make it stand out as a track-focused monster. These include a brand new front bumper and splitter assembly. It will retain the same grille that saw in GT3 race car last year.
It is expected to produce 570 horsepower and should be priced above the GT S. It is expected to be a limited run production variant while we may expect a black one soon. The car’s underpinnings and chassis have been especially relevant to the GT3.
