The most popular variant of the tiny car, the Convertible has been officially launched in India with prices starting from Rs. 34.90 lakh. The Cabrio version is based on the new UKL platform and now joins the three-door and five-door outgoing models in India. The three-door retractable soft roof version will also be imported via CBU (completely built unit) route in India thus customer have to compromise on prices.
The new generation Mini Controvertible has grown in dimensions as well, which now measures 3821mm in length, 1727mm in width and 1415mm in height; having grown by 98mm, 44mm and 1mm in length, width and height respectively. Dressed for the occasion and equipped with high-quality upholstery, multi-function sport leather steering wheel, ambient lights, and LED interiors. As for safety concern, the car is equipped with best-in-class safety technology. The standard safety equipment comprises of Front and Passenger Airbags, Brake Assist, 3-Point Seat Belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control and Run-flat Indicator.
The Mini Convertible is powered by a 2-liter twin-power turbo engine that delivers 189bhp of power and 280Nm of peak torque. You can choose either a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed sports automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km in just 7.1 seconds with top speed of 233km/h.
