The Japanese Automaker Suzuki has launched the all new Suzuki Swift 2017 in Japan with the base variant priced at .34 million Yen ( Rs. 7.78 lakh) and the high-end variant at 1.84 million Yen (Rs. 10.69 lakh). The new Suzuki Swift hatchback is based on the lightweight HEARTECT Baleno platform that makes the new Swift to lose 120kgs than its predecessor. The new generation Swift gets cosmetic enhancements on the exterior as well as interior. The new Swift will make its global debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and it’s expected to launch in India in November 2017.
Swift 2017 Exterior
The new Suzuki Swift gets a complete design overhaul with new large hexagonal gill with chrome bleed, swept-back LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and stylish fog housing. N the side profiles, it gets blacked out A and B-pillar and the rear door handle is on the C-pillar, sloping roofline and the all new 16-inch alloy wheels.The rear profile gets a sporty tailgate design, integrated rear spoiler and LED taillights. The high-end RS variant gets sporty body kit with revised front grille, front and rear bumpers and side skirts.
On the interior, you get a newly designed steering wheel, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, automatic climate control system, rear parking assist, keyless entry, and lots of new features. The safety features of the new Swift 2017 includes dual sensor brake support (DSBS), lane departure warning function, false start suppression function, preceding vehicle start notification function, stagger alarm function, high beam assist function, adaptive cruise control (ACC), 7 airbags with SRS curtain air bags and front seat SRS side air bag, rear seat belt Force limiter & pretensioner and driver seat armrest.
Swift 2017 Engines
The all-new Suzuki Swift 2017 is offered with two petrol engine options with SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The base variant is powered by a 1.2-litre K12C DualJet four-cylinder petrol engine developing 89 BHP and 120 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission along with 2WD and 4WD drive-train options. The sportier RSt variant is powered by a 1.0-litre K10C three-cylinder turbocharged, BoosterJet petrol engine that produces 110 BHP of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with a 2WD option. The new Swift delivers a mileage of 23.4 & 24 kmpl for the 1.2-litre engine, 27.4 kmpl for the SHVS hybrid variant and 20 kmpl for the RSt 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine variant.
The new Swift 2017 is expected to launch in India in the second half of 2017 in the price range of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 7.5 lakh.
