Tata Nexon is due for launch sometime this year, falls under the sub-compact SUV segment has been spotted testing in heavy camouflage on the Mumbai – Pune Expressway recently.
The SUV was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this year.
The SUV, originally, unveiled as a concept vehicle at the 2014 Auto Expo and the production version of the vehicle made its debut at this year Auto Expo which is now nearing its final avatar.
It will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel mill. The power output of the former are not revealed yet, while the latter oil-burner will churn out 110bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. The engines will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission with three drive modes.
The Tata Nexon is based on the company’s next-gen ‘Impact Design’ philosophy. It will be built on the X1 platform that is underpinned by the Bolt and the Zest. When launched, it will take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
