Volvo India has launched the S60 Cross Country sedan, the revamped version of standard S60 in India, priced at Rs. 38.9 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The cross edition isn’t new to the market, and it is done by molding the sedan and an SUV to get the cross look. In this case, the standard S60 has been transformed to the cross version, featuring the properties of rugged SUV and luxury sedan.
On the exterior, the Cross Country gets a new grille, body cladding and faux brushed silver skid plates. The highlight of the car is its ground clearance, which has been raised to 201mm, a prominent 65mm more than the standard S60. The sedan rides on bigger 18-inch or optional 19-inch alloy wheels.
The S60 Cross Country looks similar to other Volvo models on the inside with eye-catching digital instrument cluster and the company’s signature keypad design central console. The centre infotainment display screen in embedded into the dashboard and comes loaded with all vitals including Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, reverse camera with parking sensors; ergonomically designed sports seats with leather upholstery.
The S60 Cross Country is being offered with a 2.4-litre five-cylinder D4 diesel engine that produces 187bhp and 420Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission with AWD. The car will be imported into India as a CBU, and it will take on the likes of the BMW X1 and the Audi A3.
