These smartphones are officially launching in India on 4th of October, however, we are not sure whether all the three models are making its way to India. Lenovo has started rolling out media invites for the October event.

Motorola backed by Lenovo, the first OEM to introduce modular smartphone officially. Similar to the G5 modular smartphone, the Moto Z modular smartphones are compatible with Moto Mods such as a battery pack, a JBL speaker module, a projector, and a camera pack. These modules are only supported by Moto Z and Moto Z force that can be snapped using a 16 connector pins at the back.

Lenovo is working with third part companies to develop modules for G5 and Moto Z lineup. These modules will also be launched alongside the launch of Moto Z lineup.

The Moto Z packs aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel chassis, 5.2mm thin, and ultra light as well. It has a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED touchscreen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and an option of either 32GB or 64GB internal storage, and a microSD expandable slot that supports up to 2TB. On the back, you get a 13MP camera with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization (OIS) and there’s a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens. It features water-repellent coating and is powered by a 2600mAh battery with quick charge support – offers 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. The connector is USB Type-C. The Moto Z runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Moto Z Force Modular Smartphone

The Moto Z Force is merely identical to its sibling in terms of design and specs with few exceptions. Its bezels are 6.9mm thick that is backed by a 3500mAh battery. The battery is rated to deliver 40 hours of battery life and its quick charging tech helps to gain 15 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. It has a 21MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus, while keeping the laser autofocus and OIS features from the Z. Otherwise, the two phones are identical, including the fact that neither has a 3.5mm headset jack. Motorola will include a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box, though.
