Prime Minister Narendra Modi stormed the entire nation on late evening of November 8, 2016 by announcing that Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 bank notes won’t be valid post the midnight of November 8. As a part of demonetisation measure, government introduced new Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000 currency notes.  The prime focus of demonetisation is to curb black money as well as counterfeits of existing currency notes which is now invalid.

Narendra Modi requested people to accept the inconveniences caused due to currency crunch in the country for 50 days, and it has been 50 days, the situation isn’t normal . Still we can see long queues outside ATMs and Banks. In most of the areas, ATMs were closed following new rules and restriction imposed by RBI.

As per government, the move is to fight back corruption and in the long term there won’t be corruption and counterfeits when we move towards cashless economy. While private firms such as payment services were enjoying the benefits of demonetisation, the common man is still suffering based on several facts as money is not being available in ATMs and Banks.

Meanwhile, we have interesting news about demonetisation. A short film is being made on the positive impacts of the move titled “Note Down” which is produced by Ashoke Pandit. He has released the first look poster of Note Down on Twitter saying , “History was created on 8th Nov 2016…with my short film #NoteDown it would be celebrated #TeaserPoster #ComingSoon.”
