Gautamiputra Satakarni Review: Gautamiputra Satakarni aka GPSK is a historical drama written and directed by National award winner Krish Jagarlamudi. The film is produced by Saibabu Jagarlamudi & Y. Rajeev Reddy on First Frame Entertainment banner. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shriya Saran, Hema Malini, Kabir Bedi and Shiva Rajkumar in lead roles. Chirantan Bhatt has composed music and Cinematography is handled by Gnana Shekar V.S, while editing is handled by Suraj Jagtap & Rama Krishna Arram.

Gautamiputra Satakarni Review & Story Plot:

Gautamiputra Satakarni movie is based on the life of 2nd century AD Satavahana ruler Gautamiputra Satakarni who was the most powerful king among Satavahanas. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the title role, Actress Shriya Saran is Playing the female lead role and she will be seen in the role of Vashista Devi, wife of to Balakrishna whereas Hema Malini played the role of mother to Balakrishna in this movie. Besides the lead roles, Shiva Rajkumar, Kabir Bedi and Ravi Prakash played the crucial supporting roles in the movie.

Satakarni (Balakrishna) is a son who is well pampered by his mother and is well known for his love towards his mother and everyone underestimates him quoting him as mother’s son who is not meant to battlefield. As a child he misses his father who goes on wars and asks his mother about that. She says that his father went to win other emperor’s. He then vows to her mother that he is going to create a single big empire uniting all the small regions, spreading peace. This has become his life motive and how he achieved that motive forms the rest of the story.

Performance

Balakrishna powerful performance as Gautamiputra Satakarni will steal the show. Even, Shriya, Hema Malini, Rajkumar, Kabir Bedi and Ravi Prakash have given their best performance.  The VFX and background music On technical front, VFX, songs, BGM looks superb.Krish has created a brilliant screenplay, which is engaging right from the beginning till the end. The director has nicely blended all commercial ingredients like action, romance, drama and punch dialogues in to serious and real-life story.

Gautamiputra Satakarni Movie Verdict: Grand visuals, highly impressive dialogues and BGM are the positives of the short and crisp first half and second half. On the flip side climax war episode is extraordinary. Overall it’s a decent film.
