American Gods Season 1: There has been lots of buzz over a fantasy television series by Starz, American Gods, which is based on a popular novel by Neil Gaiman of the same name. The author was acclaimed globally for his glorious work in the novel that in fact gives another look at gods who walked the earth because people believe and accept them. The readers of the book were enthralled when showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green decided to make a fantasy series based on the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book.
What’s more fascinating news about the novel-turned television series is that it would come up with a new captivating character which was not featured in the Neil’s book. Thus, curiosity for the series has been raised above the bars, which will debut in April 2017 on Starz. People believe and worship gods across the globe; however the novel takes an unusual stand on gods who roam the earth. But, in America, newer gods eventually have to fight in order to grab attention of the believers.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the exclusive first look of American Gods reveals a new character going by the name Vulcan who roams the eternal worlds. Vulcan will be played by Corbin Bernsen, and as per the insights of the new god, who will have the qualities of Roman God who has developed as an advanced and effective individual in a nation where everything has been desolated by viciousness. Showrunner Bryan Fuller reveals the character of Vulcan by saying “Vulcan’s the lord of the Volcano and the Forge, and what is the modern-day extrapolation of what that god could do?”
Vulcan was not featured in Neil Gaiman’s 2001 novel, which forms the basis for the series. It was Gaiman’s idea to include this character in the series as it would have its intense and relevant with the storyline. Showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green thought it might be a great idea and created the character for the American Gods season 1.
American Gods Season 1 will start airing on Starz from April 2017.
