Google has announced a new update for the Google Photos service app for Android today. The update has started rolling out and it might take a few days before it reaches you. The new update brings in an improved design and performance enhancements.

Google introduced a bottom navigation bar that makes it easier to switch between the Assistant, Photos or new Album views. The navigation bar is similar to the one that was introduced with the latest version of Google +app for Android.

The other noticeable change is that the team have renamed the ‘Collections’ to ‘Albums’ that   features a new scrolling carousel on top with easy access to your shared albums, people, places, things, animations, collages, movies, and device folders.

The new update, however, is only available to the Android users right now, but will be coming soon to iOS as well. Get the latest update for Android in the Play store.
