Optimize Your Website for Search Engines and SEO 2016

When I started blogging, everything is new to me from optimizing the website to promoting content. If you’re then you might have searched about optimizing your blog for SEO and search engines.

You’ve already gone through loads of guides on different websites, of which majority of them would be written lavishly. I’ll try to optimize this article as well keeping it short and simple.

Website Niche and Design:

Before starting to develop a website, you should be aware of your expertise. Don’t hurry, spend some time on research and choose a proper niche that people are interested in. Here’s a list of high CPC keywords for the year 2016, which might give you some idea. Starting a blog on any of these topics is advisable.

Once you’re done with your keyword research, pick a catchy domain name that fits your niche. There are a lot of CMS platform, but I suggest you to use WordPress, as it has a lot of features and more importantly, you don’t need to be a techie to build a website.

Choose the best theme that has a minimal design. Keep in mind that in order to get higher ranking in search engines your site should load in less than 5 seconds.

Use minimal CSS and JavaScript while developing your website.

Optimizing your website for SEO 2016:

Include Meta and Title tags but adding Meta keywords have nothing to do with Google but it may help with other search engines.

As I already said, research keywords and add it to your website.

Add your site to search engines and use any one of the analytics, especially Google.

Add a sitemap to search engines.

While writing content, never stuff your keywords. The keyword density should be less than 2%. You can use Yoast SEO plugin for better suggestions and improve your content.

Include videos and images strategically throughout your content.

Add alt tags to your images. As images have the ability to drive an insane traffic to your site.

Your content should not be less than 300 words. Never post duplicate content as it may affect your site rankings.

Create and improve your original unique content.

Link to other popular websites when you have reference to the content of that website. Use “no follow” relation to low quality linking websites.

Increase your online presence. Create your site profile on Social Medias like Facebook, Twitter, etc and start sharing your content. Check out the best 50 ways to drive traffic to your blog naturally.

Avoid using frames whenever possible

Don’t buy gigs from Fiverr to optimize your website.

Use Cache plugin for your WordPress website
