Being the third largest mobile phone operator in India, Idea Cellular launched the high-speed fourth-generation (4G) services across South India on Wednesday.
Major cities and towns across the southern India will be covered immediately, but all cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana would be covered by March 2016.
Reliance is yet to announce a date for the 4G service rollout, which will be the nation’s biggest 4G network. It seems RCom owned by Anil Ambani was in talks with Aircel to create India’s second-largest mobile operator. If everything goes well, these two giants would pull over Vodafone, which currently stands India’s second-biggest mobile operator.
