Narendra Modi Speech on Demonetisation Live: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation on effects and benefits of demonetisation in a few minutes today, 31st December 2016 at 7:30 PM. Modi will likely talk about the impact of demonetisation and its effects on Indian economy and the importance of digital payments, why people should move towards digital payment, and black money among others in the “address to the nation” live streaming on New Year’s Eve.
This is the second time PM Narendara Modi will be giving a live speech after his stunning announcement of scrapping the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes back on 8th November. The move comes in a bid to eliminate black money and counterfeits in the country. Modi’s speech will be telecasted live on Doordarshan.
Unlike his previous address to the nation which was a sudden thing, today’s address to the nation program was pre-planned and we expect he will touch different verticals. We are expecting new announcements as a part of his mission to curb black money which would be PM’s New Year gift to the people of India.
With December 30, 2016, the dead line for depositing old notes has come to an end, however people can deposit banned currency notes at select RBI counters till March 31, 2017. Modi requested people to bear the pain due to demonetisation for 50 days and that ended by yesterday as well. Unfortunately, the economy and currency circulation has not yet normalized where we can see people still standing in queues outside every banks to withdraw money. Modi will be talking about that too.
We are excited to learn on what topics he would touch today and his next surgical strikes. Just sit stight and hold for few minutes. You can watch Modi’s Address to the Nation live telecast below.
