Indian Army: Indian Army has finally given its nod to the Government of India to release the video footage of surgical strikes carried out across the LOC in Kashmir on September. Now, it is the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to take its call whether to release the video footage or not.

Avenging the Uri attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers, Indian Army made surgical strikes across the Line of Control in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), stepping in 2 kilometers on the dawn of September 29. Indian Army wiped out 7 terrorists launch pads killing more than 5 terrorists in three places where the strike was carried out.

Pakistan is continuously denying that surgical strikes had never taken place, and the Pakistan Army took international journalists to those places claiming their stand. Even in India, opposition parties including Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Nirupam have asked for the proof of surgical strikes.

Top army officials have said that the video footage of surgical strikes will answer those alleging the strikes never happened. India will release the video footage based on the call on Pakistan response. They have said that on releasing the video footage will increase the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

Army says that they have solid evidence to prove the strikes had happened, including photographs and videos shot by UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

“There is no doubt at all that the strikes inflicted heavy damage. Proof is available with the government that clearly shows our troops engaging the targets effectively,” a senior government official said.
