Though it isn’t new for the Android, the 3D Touch was rolled out last month but before it excites us, it was pulled out from Play Store. The reason for the withdrawal is unknown. The feature has again popped out in the app’s v7.14.0, which is rolling out to its users.
Inspired from 3D touch option in iPhone 6S and 6S plus, the 3D touch feature for Android allows users to use ‘Peek and Pop’ gestures based on pressing down on the screen. Unlike Apple’s 3D touch, Instagram’s 3D touch will not offer additional functions.
You’ll be able to explore the feature just by pressing down on the image icon harder, which shows the preview of the image along with the option to comment, share and like. Other than that, a single tap will open the full view of the image as the current version does.
You can get the latest version of the Instagram app from Google Play Store.
