Well, the madness goes crazy as a Dutch automobile website posted a sales brochure revealing the Jaguar F-Type SVR, giving us the first impression of the Jaguar Land Rover’s top notch sports powertrain. The car has been developed by the company’s Special Vehicle Operation department (SVO), and the brochure shows pictures of the bright orange sports car wearing the SVR badge, which is the first from Jaguar followed by last year’s Range Rover’s Sport SVR.
As per the brochure, the new Jag’s F-Type will be powered by the same powerful 5.0-litre V8 mill, but when it comes to horsepower, it delivers 567bhp and 700Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which is 25bhp and 20NM of torque more than the F-Type R, the current range-topper. With its all-wheel drive, the machine takes up the 0 to 62mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds with an incredible top speed of 200mph that beats the F-Type R’ top-speed of 186mph and sprint by 0.4 seconds, making the new F-Type SVR the most powerful machine ever built in jaguar history.
The new F-Type SVR will be available in both coupe and convertible with improvised aerodynamics over the standard one. The front bumper gets larger air inlets with upgraded splitter to allow more air to the cooling system. At the back, there is a huge spoiler and a revised diffuser, which apparently reduce the lift by up to 80 percent. In order to reach the top speed of 200mph, it has to be lowered slightly to make the car more slippery, but the convertible won’t make to that speed, however, it could reach 194mph.
The sports car will feature new carbon-ceramic brakes that make it lighter by 21kg, new titanium exhaust which saves 12kg and the light aluminum wheels resulting in 10kg savings. On the Inside, there’s an updated steering wheel and premium sports leather seats with SVR badge placed throughout the cabin. There’s no word on pricing, just yet, but it will be sitting at the top of the current F-type R’s. That being said, we will get to know all depths about the Jag’s new sports car when it makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
