Jeep India just launched its most popular flavours in India – the Wrangler Unlimited and the Grand Cherokee at a price tag of Rs. 71.59 lakh and Rs. 93.64 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The American iconic car maker has finally landed its two flagships in the Indian shores.
The Indian-spec Wrangler Unlimited is a four-door fully customizable model that has a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment Alpine sound system and full dressed with premium Mckinley leather. It comes with Command Trac on the fly 4×4 system. The SUV includes multistage front airbags and supplementary side airbags.
The Wrangler Unlimited is powered by a 2.8-litre CRD turbo diesel mill paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The engine is good for 200bhp of power and 460Nm of torque. It will be offered in only one variant with six body colours – black, white, silver, granite, red and grey.
While the Wrangler Unlimited is restricted to only a single variant, the Grand Cherokee will be offered in three versions with two engine options.
The top of the line trim Cherokee SRT is powered by a performance 6.4 litre Hemi V8 mill that produces 470bhp of power and 630Nm of torque. The other two variants – Cherokee Limited and Cherokee Summit are powered by a 3-litre V6 diesel engine producing 240bhp of power and 570Nm of torque. The latter is mated to as 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifter behind the steering wheel.
All three models are equipped with Jeep’s Select-Terrain all-wheel drive system with various predefined setups for throttle control, gearbox, transfer case, and traction control.
