Karbonn’s Latest K9 Smartphone Has a Big Screen and Supports 21 Indian Languages

Karbonn’s latest addition to the mid-range smartphone lineup, the new K9 smartphone, priced at Rs. 3,990 is now available via retails stores. The device targets the diversified audience in the country, supporting around 21 regional languages at the system level and 11 Indian languages for phone contacts.

Powered by Android 4.4 KitKat, the device has a 5-inch 480p display, a quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, an expandable memory slot up to 32GB via microSD and packs a 2300mAh battery. Camera-wise, it sports a 3.2-meagapixels on the back and a 1.3-meagpixels on the front. The dual-SIM handset includes connectivity options like GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.

Commenting on the launch, Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles said, “With the launch of K9 Smart, we aim to dissolve the language barrier which is one of the major impediments inhibiting Smartphone adoption amongst non-English speaking population. With K9 Smart launch we aim to bridge this divide by offering Indian users an affordable smartphone device which offers access in their native language for ease of use thereby encouraging adoption.”
