Kawasaki India has unveiled the ZX-14R and ZX-10R for the year 2016, priced at Rs 17.9 lakh and Rs 16.4 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom, Pune). Both the superbikes have got a host of technological and aerodynamics upgrades that make them the faster and better handler than the outgoing models. These bikes are imported to India as a completely built unit from Japan, so it will take around 25 days for delivery after bookings.
The 2016 Kawasaki ZX-14R’s ECU settings and the exhaust system have been revised to meet the latest Euro4 emission regulations. Apart from the changes, the new ZX-14R also gets improvised seats to offer superior comfort for long distance biking. The superbike is powered by the same 1441cc inline four engine, which is rated at 200 horsepower.
It also comes with a host of riding aids like traction control, three power modes, ABS and specially developed Ohlin suspension. The bike will be available with the same paint scheme – dual-tone green with black.
Unlike the new ZX-14R, the new ZX-10R houses a handful of technological upgrades, though its design language is similar to the previous model such as revised chassis, powertrain, updated electronics package and aerodynamic updates. The 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R gets Bosch’s five-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor which detects various undulations and camber to adapt to the road conditions. It also gets launch control, cornering ABS, a quick shifter, upgraded traction control and engine braking assistance.
The bike is powered by the same 998cc 4-stroke, 4 cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve, Liquid-cooled engine, but it generates quicker throttle response, resulting in increased power that makes the new model faster than the previous one. There’s no change in paint scheme and you can book the bike for a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh that takes around 25 days for delivery.
