Undoubtedly, LG has loads of surprises that are yet to be revealed at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas. One of those is a webOS 3.0 powered smart TV, which was originally introduced in 2014, will be unveiled at the event.
The third edition of smart TV platform will be launched at CES in a couple of weeks, which was designed to improvise the usability and navigation of a smart TV. Along with the key features of webOS, the new edition offers three ‘Magic’ smart features – Magic Zoom, Magic Mobile Connection and Magic Remote.
Magic Zoom lets users blow up the pictures without affecting the quality; Magic Mobile Connection allows users to pair their smartphone with their smart TV via the LG TV Plus app to access the mobile apps on the big screen. Magic remote is used to control set-top boxes.
Brian Kwon, President and CEO at LG’s Home Entertainment Company said,
“We are excited about webOS 3.0, a major update since this advanced TV platform technology was first introduced in 2014”. “The webOS story of Simple Connection, Simple Switching and Simple Discovery has really connected with customers and illustrates very clearly our commitment to securing a leadership role in the smart TV market with innovation and creativity.”
Additionally, LG has partnered with Xumo for a unique feature Channel Plus, which lists videos from the internet into a guide that would be accessed by searching through live channels as we normally do. Also, there’s an IoTV app to control LG or compatible boxes, a multi-view option to view more than one channel at a time, and music player that works even when the screen is off.
