All-metal Samsung Galaxy C5 goes official with 4GB of RAM

    Samsung today launched its first Galaxy C series smartphone called the Galaxy C5 ending weeks of rumors about it. The online stores in China are already accepting pre-orders which will likely go on sale on June 6 in China. The Galaxy C5 will be available in two variants – 32GB and 64GB and are priced at 2199 CNY and 2399 CNY respectively.

    The Galaxy C5 packs a slender metal frame with bezels are just 6.7mm thick. It features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080p pixels and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Supporting dual-SIM with hybrid mode, the handset is powered by a Snapdragon 617 chipset (4 Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz + 4 Cortex-A53 at 1.2GHz and Adreno 405 GPU) along with 4GB of RAM.

    On the back, you’ll get a 16-megapixel autofocus sensor with f/1.9 aperture and an 8-megapixel front shooter with f/1.9 aperture and flash. There’s an expandable slot as well for up to 128GB if you’re running out of space. Connectivity includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC (supports Samsung Pay) and micro-USB. The handset sports fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button.

    There’s no word on availability of this smartphone outside China for now, and on the bigger Galaxy C7 either.
