Microsoft Surface Phone to get Snapdragon 830 chipset, 8GB of RAM

    Microsoft Surface Phone seems to be the trending topic for months now and the phone is expected to be unveiling sometime in early 2017. Reports from around the corner have revealed the innards of the phone. A recent update for the ‘Minimum hardware requirements’ page for Windows 10 mobile reveals the added compatibility with MSM8998 SoC, but later it was taken down.

    The MSM8998 is code name for the upcoming Snapdragon 830 chipset, which is the next-generation high end chipset. The unannounced Snapdragon 830 is believed to be made on Samsung’s 10nm manufacturing process, which is compatible up to 8GB of RAM. While its predecessor Snapdragon 820 is limited up to 6GB of RAM.

    Earlier reports say that the Surface phone will be unveiled in three models targeting different user groups – consumers, business users and enthusiasts. By the way, the pricing for the phones are expected to go on par targeting the high-end segment, providing the Surface laptops falls under high end segment price range. It is, however, the specs for the phone remains to be mystery. We’ll get to know more details about the phone in the coming days.
