Panasonic has unveiled a new portable mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, the Lumix DMC-GX85, priced at $800 which comes with a 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 collapsible kit zoom. The camera will be hitting the stores by the end of May and will be available in black and silver colors.

The new Lumix GX85 is a cost effective sibling to the Lumix GX8 that sports a 16-megapixel Live MOS sensor without AA filter, a revamped shutter mechanism, and 5-axis Dual image stabilization. As there’s no anti-aliasing filter, the image quality is improved by 10 percent, and a redesigned shutter mechanism helps to remove blur from shutter shock over its predecessor.

The Lumix GX85 offers ‘Dual IS’, which combines its 5-axis in-body stabilization with in-lens OIS, offering up to 4.5 stops of shake reduction. The GX85 can also record 4K (UHD) video at 30 or 24fps and 1080p video at 60fps with full-time AF. The Lumix GX85 has a 2764k dot electronic viewfinder with 1.39x magnification and 100% field of view. The 3.0-inch 1040k dot touchscreen can tilt up and down. The camera also includes Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity with smartphones.
