Range Rover Sport lineup is updated with two new engines

Land Rover, the most acclaimed luxury SUV maker is refreshing its Range Rover sport lineup by introducing two new engines, including one that is the most efficient flavor ever.

The 2017 model year of the Range Rover sport features the new Ingenium 2-litre diesel and the 3-litre petrol units, advanced infotainment system with WiFi compatibility, and semi-autonomous driving tech.

The former 2-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine is manufactured Jaguar Land Rover’s plant in Wolverhampton, West Midlands.  This engine is already offered in the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport. The arrival of new Ingenium series engine in the Western market would boost the sale as they focus on efficiency and accelerate the Rover Sport from standstill to 10kmpl in just 8 seconds.

It produces a power output of 240bhp with a combined fuel consumption of 16kmpl and CO2 emissions of 36kmpl. The 2-liter engine powers the entry level Range Rover Sport lineup, with already offering six engine options.

The petrol mill is the3-liter V6 supercharged mule produces 340bhp of power and 450Nm of torque. It reaches 0-100kmpl in 7.1 seconds. This engine for the 2017 year will be exclusive to UK customers.

The 2017 model year cars will be equipped with semi-autonomous driving technology, including Advanced Tow Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Intelligent Speed Limiter functions.

Land Rover has announced that the 2017 MY Range Rover Sport will be available later this year, with prices starting from £59,700 (Rs 52.44 lakh) for the 2-litre SD4 HSE trim.
