When it comes to CES, Samsung and LG would put up new innovations at their stages grabbing the entire crowd towards them. There’s no exception this year as well, Samsung has announced a new Family Hub refrigerator aka smart fridge that comes with a massive 21.5-inch, 1080p monitor.
To unleash its full potential, the smart fridge has to be connected to the internet at all times. Apart from a huge display, it also equips cameras inside so that you can watch your mayonnaise go bad in real time. The smart fridge allows you to program due dates for various recipes that you had stocked, and it will remind you later when the date arrives, so you can replenish your stocks accordingly. You can even check the contents remotely via a smartphone app you’re shopping, so you miss your favorite jar of pickles.
The Family Hub notifies you when you need to buy foods based on their availability in the nearby stores, even let you order them if you are in the market. The large screen, of course, displays web pages, recipes and more. Also, you can leave messages and notes on the large display for your family when you aren’t in the home. You can also control other smart appliances in your home, thanks to the SmartThings ecosystem.
There are two inbuilt speakers that let you tune to your favorite radio station. Samsung hasn’t revealed its pricing details or when it’s coming, however, it will be launched in Korea first before it goes globally.
