Samsung rolls out Marshmallow 6.0.1 beta update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Last Updated: 15 February, 2016

Samsung has released the beta version of the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for its premium lineups – the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Though it’s not a full packed version yet, Samsung wanted to bring the functionality of the beta version to these two devices, of course, the Galaxy S6 Edge gets additional perks.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow brings an expanded catalogue of emoji to Galaxy S6 devices and increases navigation and performance. Edgewise, the new update makes easier to enable or disable edge panels just by turning on or off the ‘Tasks’ checkbox in the main menu.  If you’re a beta user, you can check it out by going to Settings > About device > Software update. However, this is just a beta release and there’s no word yet on when the complete version of Android 6.0.1 will roll out to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy s6 Edge.
