There have been a lot of startups made some exciting announcements about wireless headphone this year, either they have no wires connecting to your phone or between the two earbuds.

Samsung on Thursday announced the Gear IconX, the truly wireless earbuds. Prices at $200, and this is the first wireless earbuds from a reputed manufacturer.Alongside the Gear IconX, the company also announces its second-generation Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker.

They have no wires connecting them or to the phone and are independent of each other. Accompanying the Gear IconX is the pill-shaped case that charges the earbuds when not in use.

Samsung says that the headphones will last about an hour and a half when streaming music from your phone or just over three and a half hours when playing music stored on their 4GB of internal memory.

They have hooks that fit comfortably in your ear and controlling them are very easy as is – just swipe and tap on the earbud to skip tracks, navigate menus, and control volume. They are good at blocking outside noises and there’s a system that allows the outside sound into the earbuds in case you want.

It can be paired to your Android smartphone running version 4.4 and up. You’ll be able to control all actions of the earbuds through an accompanying app. Sadly, they won’t work with iOs devices.

Samsung is pitching the Gear IconX as a fitness tracker in the first place than a personal audio device. The IconX has sensors to monitor movement, heart rate, and distance traveled, and can calculate calories burned. It syncs all of that data to Samsung’s S Health app, which can export to a handful of other fitness apps.
