SanDisk Launches its Portable Storage Device Line-up in India

SanDisk today unveiled a new range of flash drives and storage devices for the Indian lineup. Besides a series of memory products out today, there was one product that grabbed everyone’s attention – iXpand Flash Drive – storage devices for your iPhones and iPads.

It will be available in various storage capacities from 16GB to 128GB and pricing for 16GB is Rs. 3,990, 32GB for Rs. 4,990, 64Gb for Rs. 6,990 and lastly 128GB will set you back at RS. 9,990.

Sandisk iXpand Flash Drive

The new iXpand Flash Drive will be available on Amazon India and will be compatible with iOS devices running iOS 8.2 OS and up. Its design has been completely revamped featuring a sleek design with minimal width of a standard USB plug along with the Lightning connector on the other end.

With this new design, you no longer need to pull it out from iPhone or iPad case. Unlike the first generation model, there’s no battery in this model.

With SanDisk’s free accompanying app, users can perform multiple tasks – play compatible videos and music, automatically back up photos and contacts, take photos from the app then and there letting you to store it on your phone or drive and so on. The app also allows you to back up content from social media apps such as Facebook or Picassa.

SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick

There’s a new 200GB variant as well called the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick allowing you to share content across any OS or platform using Wi-Fi. It even supports content streaming via Apple’s AirPlay, Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV. Priced at Rs. 9,990, it will be sold on Amazon India.

The company also announces Ultra USB Type-C Flash Drive for smartphones and PCs. It supports speeds of USB3.1 Gen 1 and will be available in various sizes from 16GB to 128GB. Prices start at Rs. 1,290 and go up to Rs. 4,290, and all versions are covered by a 5-year warranty.

The SanDisk Ultra USB Drive 3.0 has a standard USB 3.0 connector at one end and a micro-USB connector on the other end, which can be used with OTG compatible devices. Priced at Rs. 3,390 for 128GB, it will be available on Flipkart.

Sandisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card

Lastly, there’s a memory card that is offering the world’s highest transfer speed. The new Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card is specifically designed to be used with action cameras, drones, and other devices which push 4K or high-frame rate video, resulting in massive file sizes. The company says that this microSD card can withstand shock, extreme temperatures, water, and even x-rays. It comes with a USB 3.0 card reader and a lifetime limited warranty. The 64GB version costs Rs. 9,990 while the 128GB version costs Rs. 18,990.
