Sony recently launched its latest smartphones in India – the Xperia X and Xperia XA smartphones and, now the company has announced a mid-range smartphone, dubbed Sony Xperia E5. Priced at 199 Euros (roughly Rs. 15,000), the smartphone will go on sale in select European countries, Latin America, Africa and Middle Eastern regions. The company hasn’t revealed the availability details yet. The smartphone will be positioned above the recently launched Xperia XA.
The Xperia E5 features a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6735 processor. The handset packs 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card.
The device sports a 13-megapixel Exmor RS sensor on the back that has Sony’s Hybrid autofocus system. On the front, you get an 8-megapixel camera with an 88-degree wide angle lens. The handset supports 4G LTE Indian bands and has a dual-SIM system. It is powered by a 2500mAh battery and it includes all usual connectivity options. Lastly, the Xperia E5 runs the latest Android Marshmallow software.
