Recently, Amazon dropped support for device encryption for its Fire OS devices with the Fire OS 5 update, and the company has announced that it will restore the feature back in the upcoming update.
However, Amazon continues to provide encryption support for data transfers through its server, but it won’t support encryption for data stored locally on Fire OS devices that made the people upset. Amazon, however, said that the situation won’t last longer.
“We will return the option for full disk encryption with a Fire OS update coming this spring, Techcrunch reported.
While the move to remove the encryption may not have been appreciated in the first place, but it is sill great to hear that Amazon will be bringing it back.
