Intact with their update release plan, Samsung has started rolling out the latest version of Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 to Galaxy S5 units (model SM-G900I) in India. The over-the-air (OTA) update bumps the firmware version to G900IDDU1CPD1 and the users in the country should be receiving a notification asking them to update the device. However, if your device fails to receive the notification, you can also manually check by heading into the Settings app » About device » Software update menu or firing up Samsung Smart Switch.
The update will bring only the usual goodies of Marshmallow such as Doze, Google Now on Tap, and redesigned app permissions, as Samsung’s new UI won’t be updated to its flagships released before 2015. However, there’s no info whether or not anything else is included in the update.
