BHIM App for iOS: In a bid to encourage digital payments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched BHIM app on December 30, 2016. As the Government is insisting on Digital Payments, many people including opposition parties questioned why government has not yet launched an app for facilitating digital payment?
Narendra Modi has put an end to all speculation by launching the app which lets users send or receive money on the go. Developed by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), BHIM app is based on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) that allows people to make cashless payments in just a few taps. Almost all major banks are supported by BHIM app, so you don’t need to take cash with you everywhere. It’s not a mobile wallet like Paytm, which stores money in digital and use them wherever it is possible. Rather BHIM is just interoperable app that links your bank account with the app and Aadhar card and makes transactions.
