The Canadian computer manufacturing firm, Eurocom has launched a new Sky X9W laptop, formally called as ‘mobile workstation’ at a starting price of $2,930 and goes all the way up to a whopping $11,473. This new laptop is an upgrade to its Sky X9 that was launched back in October.
The Sky X9W packs in top-class premium specifications purportedly designed for business, but, I don’t think so, it will be used in our homes. The mobile workstation is powered by a quad-core, Intel i7 Skylake-S 6700 processor, and Intel Z170 Express Skylake chipset, however, users have the option to pick either Intel i5 Skylake-S 6600L or i7 Skylake-S 6700 processors. The GPU comes with multiple options, you can choose either one of these options – 8GB Nvidia Quadro M5000M, 4GB Nvidia Quadro M3000M, or a single 200W desktop class 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 980.
You can either choose a 17.3-inch 4k or a 1080p display. Coming to RAM, you have lots of options to choose from, starting with the base configuration of 16GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM and goes all the way up to 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM. Aside, the laptop is equipped with a USB 3.1Type-C port, five USB 3.0 ports, a couple of display ports that lights up to four monitors, and each of HDMI, headphone jack, and mic. It supports Wi-FI as well as there are two RS45 ports. On the storage front, you can configure up to 5TB SSD Storage in a RAID configuration. Finally, you can choose Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 platform.
