Earlier this month, Google Maps for Android brings in a new feature called the parking difficulty icon for beta, and this feature is now officially hitting Android devices in the United States. This feature is exclusive for Android users, at least for now. It will only let you know about the parking difficulties in 25 US metro areas.
How Google Maps Parking Difficulty Icon Works
The parking estimation isn’t real-time and works in the same way that the Maps gives heads-up about ride estimation at business times using historical data. It won’t be that precise, but will be more helpful so that you can get ready for the parking crunch. When you search for a place, you’ll see an additional info on parking, which will show you a rating of difficult to medium to easy for the place you’re about to visit. The icon will also be shown near the estimated travel time.
This is the first wave of areas where you’ll be able to access parking headache within Google Maps using parking difficulty icon.
