Lenovo announced two smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – the Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus. Lenovo has a strong footprint in the affordable smartphone market and the phones share identical specs except the screen resolution and chipset.
The Lenovo K5 is priced at $129 and is available in Silver, Grey, and Gold color options. For this price, you’ll get a 5-inch LCD HD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 780 pixels, Snapdragon 415 octa-core SoC, Adreno 405, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage, a microSD expansion of up to 32GB, and a13/5MP combo camera unit.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus, on the other hand, carries a price tag of $149. The handset features a 5-inch IPS LCD full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by a Snapdragon 616 quad-core SoC with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It packs 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. It also houses a 13-megapixel rear-camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus run Android 5.1 Lollipop and are backed by 2,750mAh batteries. Both the handsets support dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Micro-USB 2.0 connectivity options.
