LG X cam and X screen

LG today announced that a new ‘X’ series of smartphones will be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. The X cam and X Screen are the two smartphones scheduled to make their debut at the event on February 22 and will go on sale in Asia, Europe, and Latin America starting next month.

The company says the devices “are designed for customers who do not want or need all the bells and whistles that come with today’s high-end phones but still desire a great camera or advanced display.”

Spec-wise, the X cam will feature a 5.2 FHD In-cell display, a 1.14GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt memory, and a 2,520mAh battery. The handset equips a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel twin camera setup on the rear alongside an 8-megapixel front shooter. Measuring 147.5×73.6×6.9mm and weighing 118g, the device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The X cam will be available in Titan Silver, White, Gold and Pink Gold colors.

On the other hand, the X screen features a 4.93-inch 720p main display as well as a 1.76-inch LCD (520 x 80) “Always On” secondary display. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. In terms of camera, the handset sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper. The X screen packs in a 2,300mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Measuring 142.6×71.8×7.1mm, the device will be available in Black, White and Pink Gold colors.

“Everyone has a favorite smartphone feature,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “At LG, we think there’s room for devices that do one thing very well and that customers shouldn’t have to pay for features that they don’t want. At the end of the day, we’re committed to offering consumers more choices.”
