Acer launched an upgraded version of the Aspire Switch 12 equipped with enhanced design and improved specification. The new Aspire Switch 12 S offers a variety of handling mode – tablet mode, laptop mode, tent mode and the tablet stand mode.
The windows 10 powered device sports a 12.5-inch display with Zero Air Gap technology for reduced glare and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will be also available in 4K or 1080p display as optional. Powering that screen is a choice of sixth-generation Intel Core M processors paired with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM, and you’ll also have a choice of 128GB or 256GB SSD storage.
The Aspire Switch 12 S sports an HD front camera and front-facing speakers powered by Dolby Audio and Acer TrueHarmony. The notable change in the hardware would be the Thunderbolt 3 USB 3.1 Type-C port for power. Additionally, the port can also output to displays and supports high-speed data transfers. Besides USB Type-C port, there are two USB 3.0 ports and a Micro HDMI out, with a MicroSD reader and headphone socket rounding off the port selection.
The new Aspire Switch 12 S will be available for purchase in the US next month starting $999. The prices may go higher for the high-end devices with extreme specifications.
