Google’s Chrome OS has now been running on Acer’s Chromebase 24, the latest addition to the standalone desktop lineup. Unlike the previous models from LG and Acer that employed cheaper chips, the All-in-one chrome based desktop is powered by a proper Inter core processor. It sports a 23.8-inch 1080p IPS display which is larger than its predecessor and it comes with touchscreen option as well.
The Chromebase 24 can be configured up to 8GB of RAM, a high-resolution front camera and has 802.11ac WiFi and gigabit ethernet connectivity. Being touted as the video conferencing machine, it equips four digital microphones besides an adjustable HD webcam. Chromebase 24 is likely to be the most expensive Chrome OS based machine till date. There’s no word from the company about the pricing and availability of the desktop.
