HMD Global, which will be making mobile devices under the brand Nokia for the next few years, has launched the first Nokia Android Smartphone on Sunday. The company didn’t hint about the launch before and silently launched the phone. The newly launched Nokia 6 smartphone will be exclusive to China market and will not launch outside China.
At the price point of CNY 1699, the phones in the same range packs powerful processor but Nokia 6 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone will be available for purchase in early 2017.
Nobody expected the launch so sooner and it was big surprise from the company. The budget smartphone Nokia E1 which has been in rumor mills for a long time was expected to be the first one to get out of the box. Now, the specifications of the phone was leaked which will feature either a 5.2-inch or 5.3-inch display with screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels.
The Nokia E1 will be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 308 GPU. The phone, apparently, should be running the latest Android Nougat. In terms of camera, it will pack a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The company is planning to position the device with an aggressive price tag. The phone is expected to launch at MWC 2017 next month.
