Samsung today launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7 in India. Along with the Note 7, Samsung has also launched a handful of accessories to complement its flagship – new Gear VR headset, Gear IconX wireless earbuds, and Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker.
The Galaxy Note 7 is the first phone in the Note lineup to come with a 5.7-inch QHD dual-edge screen with Super AMOLED display, and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Note 7 is the first of the line to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 5, iris scanner and the improved s Pen stylus.
In India, the phone is powered by its own Exynos 8890 processor while the US variant is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. It also features dual SIM, but hybrid slot configuration, meaning one of the slots can be used for either SIM card or microSD. The phone has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and is powered by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging tech. The phone supports both wired and wireless charging options.
On the rear, the phone is equipped with a 12MP camera with Dual Pixel technology, PDAF, OIS, and f/1.7 aperture. There’s a 5MP camera on the front. The phone comes with fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button which supports Samsung Pay as well.
The Galaxy Note 7 is particularly designed on security aspects and that’s Knox security suite now supports biometric authentication from both the iris scanner and fingerprint scanner.

The pre-registration for the Galaxy Note 7 will start from August 22 through August 30, with the phone slated to go on sale on September 2. It will be available in Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium, Black Onyx colors, despite missing Blue Coral variant.
