Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge to Receive Android 7.1 Nougat Straight

The latest Android operating system Nougat v7.1 has already reached Google’s native devices like Nexus and Pixels. Most of the phone makers are testing the Android Nougat beta version on their flagship devices, including Samsung’s Galaxy Beta Program.

Users enrolled to Samsung’s Galaxy Beta Program can test the Android 7.0 on their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices. Looking at this, we can expect Samsung to roll out Android Nougat 7.0, but Samsung has other ideas.

Those improvements are only supported with compatible devices. The noted improvements over the Android 7.1 versus 7.0 would be the enhanced touch functionality and Daydream VR support. Samsung flagship devices won’t support Daydream VR even with Gear VR. But, it’s worth to be noted that Samsung, Google and others have formed the Global VR Association.
