Microsoft has finally taken the wraps off the much-anticipated smartphones, the Microsoft Lumia 650 today. The handset will be available in select European markets starting February 18 at a price point around $199 before taxes and subsidies. Yes, the smartphone should be available for purchase in India too, as the handset is listed on the company’s official Indian site, but it’s a dual-SIM one. However, Microsoft hasn’t quoted the pricing or availability of the smartphone yet for the Indian market.
Microsoft adds that the Lumia 650 fits “perfectly into the enterprise with built-in support for Microsoft business apps.” The company says that the Lumia 650 will allows IT to “test the latest Windows 10 Mobile updates against critical line of business systems and apps”, before it’s distributed to end users via MDM.
Coming to specification, the devices is beautifully crafted with a 5-inch 720p AMOLED ClearBlack display that Microsoft claims, “our most beautiful screen ever … at this price point.” The Lumia 650 is powered by a Snapdragon 212 chipset clocked at 1.3GHz and its quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU. The handset packs in 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a microSD expansion of up to 200GB, and a 2,000mAh battery.
The camera part is taken care by an 8-megapixel sensor on the back with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel shooter at the front. The handset is equipped with Cat 4 LTE, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. There is no difference between the Lumia 650 single SIM and dual-SIM variants, expect the SIM slots.
The Lumia 650 is packed together by a solid aluminum frame and will be available in Black and White color schemes. The handset boasts a light design, just weighs 122g and measures 42 x 70.9 x 6.9mm.
