Zopo Mobile has launched a new flagship smartphone, dubbed Zopo Speed 8, which is powered by a Helio X20 64-bit CPU with ten cores, the first of its kind in smartphone lineup. The handset made its debut at MWC 2016 back in February.
The Zopo Speed 8 is claimed to be the world’s first deca-core smartphone, and that is the successor to the last year’s Speed 7. The handset has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS Symmetrical display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with expandable microSD slot and packs a 3600mAh battery. There’s a fingerprint scanner as well on the back of the phone.
In terms of camera, you’ll get a 21MP rear camera with Sony IMX230 sensor and a dual-LED flash. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter. On the connectivity front, the handset includes usual things like Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, NFC, 4G LTE, USB Type-C and dual-SIM configuration.
The Zopo Speed 8 will go on sale right away on both online and offline channels at a price tag of Rs. 29,999.
Announcing the launch at a press conference, Kevin Xu, Founder Zopo brand, commented, “The smartphone market in India is going through a cut-throat competition of sorts and relevance and technology innovation dictates what is here to stay. There is no place for ‘me toos’ in the market. Keeping today’s smart, discerning and technology savvy millennial in mind, we design our smartphones and make sure they are at par with contemporary trends and at the same time, they are futuristic as well. India is a strategic market for us and we are in India, for India. With this overriding commitment at our core, we launched the sophisticated Zopo Speed 8 here.”
