Nextbit has finally launched the Robin smartphone in India, priced at RS. 19,999. The smartphone will be going on sale on Flipkart starting from May 30. Nextbit is offering 100GB free cloud storage rather than offering massive internal storage on the phone itself saving you few bucks than buying a phone with the same spec with huge storage. The idea behind is that it will automatically backup any app or content to the cloud that was not accessed for a while to free up phone’s storage and then recovered upon request.
Nextbit Robin smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and runs Android 60 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. It is powered by a hexacore Snapdragon 808 processor that is accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
On the camera front, you’ll get a 13MP rear camera and a5MP front snapper. Unfortunately, it comes with a single SIM support in a country that loves dual-SIM smartphones. It supports 3G, 4G LTE, and usual connectivity options and comes with a USB Type-C port. Packing a 2680mAh battery, the Robin smartphone will be available in Mint and Midnight colors.
Speaking on the occasion, Tom Moss, CEO and Co-Founder Nextbit, said, “India is home to the second largest smartphone market in the world and it’s hard to ignore. Robin’s premium design and performance are a natural fit for such a demanding market. Our commitment to fast OS updates and our unique smart storage is perfect for people who constantly want more from their phone.”
Shankar Parasaram, Head of India Operations for Nextbit Systems, added, “We are very excited to introduce Robin to the India market. With a unique combination of premium design, smart storage with 100 GB online space and near stock Android experience, we can connect with the aspirational values of Indian users while addressing storage limitations so many of us have experienced.”
